If you are one of the 80% of women that wear the wrong bra size then reading this article will show you exactly how you can get a perfect fitting bra that is both comfortable and supportive. Once you know how to find your right bra size and what signs to look for to ensure a proper fit then finding plus size bras will be a breeze!

Signs That You are Wearing The Wrong Size

There are numerous signs that your bra is not fitting you correctly. If you find that your back band keeps riding up it is a sure sign that it is too small. The band should sit horizontally all around your body and feel firm but comfortable. As your plus size bras will stretch over time make sure that you can hook it on the loosest hook so that when it does start to stretch that you can tighten it up. If you find that your underwire digs under your arms it is a sure sign that your bra is too big.  The underwire should follow the natural shape of your breasts. If you have the proper cup size your breasts should not spill out of the top or over the sides. And lastly, your shoulder straps should not dig into your shoulders or leave any red marks. The right plus size bra should be comfortable to wear, not a torture device!

How To Take Proper Measurements To Determine Bra Size

While it is best to get professionally fitted for a bra, the next best then is knowing how to properly measure yourself. First you want to measure directly underneath your bust (around your rib cage) making sure to keep the measuring tape snug. To determine the band size, add five to the first measurement. If you have an odd number just round up one. To get the right cup measurement, measure around the fullest part of your bust. Now take the total number of your band measurement and subtract from your cup measurement to find your cup size using the following measurements:

0 to ½ inches: AA
½ to 1 inch: A
1 to 2 ½ inches: B
2 ½ to 3 ½ inches: C
3 ½ to 4 ½ inches: D
4 ½ to 6 inches: DD Or E
6 to 7 inches: DDD or F
7 to 8 inches: G

Voila! Now you know what the correct plus size bras you should be wearing.

Finding The Right Bra

Now that you know what not to wear and have your correct bra size you will now be able to find plus size bras that will properly support your breasts and make your clothes fit better while giving you a slimmer silouette. Now all you have to decide is whether you want to buy a sexy red lacy bra or a practical t-shirt bra!
